About this bottle

Jose Cuervo's Cristalino tequila became available nationwide in the US in April 2022, following its initial launch in Mexico. It comprises a blend of three Jose Cuervo tequilas, all made with 100% blue Weber agave: Tradicional Reposado aged in American oak (which forms the majority), Tradicional Añejo aged in American oak, and Reserva de la Familia Extra Añejo aged in both French and American oak. After blending, the tequila is refined to remove its color.

A crisp Agave Spirit from La Rojeña Distillery (NOM: 1122) in Jalisco (Los Valles), Mexico. It's a mix of Tradicional Reposado, Añejo, and Reserva de la Familia® Extra Añejo tequilas, aged in American and French oak barrels. Filtered to remove color and bottled at 40% ABV. Its initial impression is soapy, with notes of cooked agave, earth, wood, fruits, herbs, and spices. A rich and full body reveals notes of apple, pear, quince, melon, mango, vanilla, and cotton candy, concluding with a long and intricate finish of oak, pepper, cinnamon, fruit cake, rust, and sea spray.

Silky and refined on entry with a vanilla upfront character. The agave essence is pure, vibrant, and warming. What's most captivating about this spirit is the combination of diverse woods and maturation periods. It possesses substantial dry tannin throughout, yet it's harmonized by the agave, giving it an almost sweet corn likeness. We absolutely endorse this for sipping, and it would also shine brilliantly in an anejo cocktail. A fantastic enhancement to the Cuervo collection!

Bottle recently opened. The initial aroma is reminiscent of melted model airplane, followed by subtle sweet agave and vanilla. The melted plastic scent fades over time. The texture on the palate is slightly slick, semi-sweet, with a touch of spice and faint notes of agave and vanilla, plus a hint of something scorched, though I'm unsure what. The finish is relatively short, not unpleasant at all, leaving a slight tingle on the tongue and a mild sweet and spicy sensation.

Great taste, extremely smooth. I'll recommend it for sipping, not for cocktails.

Among the finest I have ever experienced.
