Sipped neat. The aroma is of butterscotch-covered pears with a hint of anise. The mouthfeel is moderate, quite rich and sweet, featuring honey sweetness alongside vanilla, butterscotch, oak, pears, chocolate, and a trace of pepper and anise. The finish is reasonably long, with vanilla and an overly sweet taste. A very accessible, dessert-like drink. Recommended if you enjoy sweet and herbal profiles.

About this bottle
Marco Cedano, a highly respected master distiller in Mexico, developed Tequila Tromba. After dedicating 17 years to the Don Julio Tequila brand, Mr. Cedano pursued his own venture. Tequila Tromba Reposado is crafted from blue weber agave, aged 7 to 12 years, and sourced from the Los Altos region. Following a double distillation, the tequila matures for six months in white oak casks that previously contained American whiskey. It is presented at 40% ABV.

Tequila Tromba's natural aging process involves 7-12 year old Blue Weber Agave from Jalisco, Mexico's Los Altos region. Despite its light appearance, it is delicious! I detect warm cocoa and even some caramelized pineapple, making it a wonderful substitute in a daiquiri!
Appearance: a pale yellow color. Nose: gentle oak notes with big waves of baking spice and dried fruit. Taste: medium-cooked agave yields to a peppery middle that goes into its slightly oaky finish. Works wonderfully in cocktails or can be enjoyed by itself.
Oak notes are certainly present but not too much. It enhances the agave's sweetness. It's incredibly smooth and leaves a lasting impression on the palate. The initial taste is sweet with subtle caramel notes, followed by a nutty quality with hints of citrus and cacao. This is truly the highlight for me.
Smooth with decent flavor, but unremarkable. It's less sweet than the blanco, though still sweet for my palate. For a sweet reposado, I'd suggest spending an extra $10 on Casamigos. Priced at $60 in Ontario.
Abundant and mellow, with considerable restraint regarding the oak. It has a straw color, with traces of tropical fruit and spice. Very enjoyable when consumed neat and performs exceptionally well in a cocktail.
