Jameson Triple Triple Marsala Cask Edition

Purchased for 28 euros per liter at duty-free, which appears to be a good value for the amount. This is my first experience with Marsala cask whisky, so let's find out... Filtered - Yes Color Added - Yes Alcohol by Volume - 40% Appearance - Golden hue, not excessively thin in the glass. Nose - Reminiscent of crispbread, malt, oiliness, honey, celery, and caramel, vanilla...strongly evokes the Redbreast 12 on the nose! Fresh orchard fruit (apples, pear), plums, some alcohol and spice are also present. Palate - Noticeable spice, yet mild, with sweetness, honey, caramel, crispbread, cereal, oak, and a dry sensation. The latter part becomes quite distinctive and captivating...difficult to precisely identify, but definitely fruity, complex, with subtle and integrated notes of raisins and dates. Finish - Lingering for a short to medium duration, with dried fruit...raisins, very pleasing. I believe this shares many similarities with my tasting of the Redbreast 12, but it succeeded where the latter fell short! Distinctive, well-balanced, with integrated spice.
