Nose: Low to medium intensity aroma. Red Delicious apples and candied lemon are the most prominent notes. There's a youthful edge, minerality, and quite noticeable graininess/corn. It's fairly floral (almost perfumy) with honey notes. There's also a tiny bit of butter and cream in the background. The beer is present in a small amount as vague maltiness and the faintest hint of coffee and dark chocolate (perhaps even imagined at that point). Palate: Begins with overripe Red Delicious apples and cream. Then the beer takes center stage with definite beer malt as well as coffee and light chocolate. It's then slightly tart (candied lemon), buttery, and floral. It definitely tastes young (no surprise here), but the grain isn't as apparent as in the smell. Somewhat medicinal. Mouthfeel: Very light and watery. Finish: Quite short but is mainly mineral with apples and cream throughout. A tiny bit of biscuit/shortbread as well as some ginger. Overall: This isn't entirely bad. It's interesting, but the flavors don't meld very well. The beer notes don't really complement the base whisky. I believe I prefer the original Jameson to this release.

Not bad, but not Jameson's finest in my opinion. Still a good value at under $40, as it's quite smooth and tasty. You can detect coffee beer notes on taste and smell, but it lacks complexity. Would I buy it again? Maybe. Opened 2019-08.
