About this bottle
This distinctive Irish whiskey originates from sourced grain and malt whiskeys, both matured in ex-bourbon casks. The grain whiskey was subsequently aged for seven months in mezcal and tequila casks, while the malt whiskey was aged in mezcal casks. The final blend consists of 60% 9-year-old grain whiskey and 40% 13-year-old malt whiskey, incorporating agave barrel finishes. Its name honors the San Patricios Battalion, Irish individuals who fought for Mexico in the Mexican-American War between 1846 and 1848 after deserting the American forces.

Very distinctive, with a pale hue. The term 'vegetal' is quite fitting! While not my personal favorite style, it's certainly worth experiencing, at least for its uniqueness!
Reminiscent of Green Spot, that's the base whiskey's character, but the agave finish doesn't work. The tequila/mezcal clashes with the barley spirit notes.
