I conducted a side-by-side comparison of this and Martell XO... To sum up, this one is smoother, gentler, less intense, lighter on the nose, and nearly matches the aftertaste length, with completely different scents. On the nose, subtle aromas of orange, orange marmalade, and vanilla appear... and after an hour or more, I also perceived a rancio aroma. In the mouth, the body is not heavy but appropriate, with a silky texture. The taste is pleasant with orange, orange marmalade, vanilla, candied fruits, a hint of floral, a light aroma of rancio, and oak wood, with a moderate to long aftertaste. Overall, I appreciate this one for its gentleness and silky feel, and I personally enjoy marmalade (especially on toast), so I am content with this selection, though its price is slightly higher than other XOs I possess.
