About this bottle

The Dudognon family has cultivated grapes on their property in what is now recognized as the Grande Champagne region since 1776, operating as a grower-producer cognac house. This Heritage bottling undergoes aging for up to four decades in casks. Its relatively translucent appearance is largely due to the complete absence of additives. Unlike many cognacs today, it contains no boisé, caramel, or sugar syrup.

Ben Paulson 4.0

Oh, interesting. The rancio character is noticeable even on the nose, though the alcohol (despite being only 41% ABV!) dominates the rest of the aroma. There might be some maple syrup present. The palate has a light, gentle tingle that gradually intensifies into a thick vanilla flavor – elegant, not overwhelming. It manages to feel both substantial and light. The finish fades, sending oak notes up the nose but maintaining the mouth tingle without burning the throat. Truly quite fascinating.

Sheri Stanford 5.0

Traditional, straightforward cognac. Kudos to the distillers for continuing this age-old craft and dedicating themselves to it. This cognac is well-rounded with a slight floral character and a beautiful caramel finish.

Clay Cahill 5.0

Among the finest cognacs. Very smooth and rich with flavors of caramel, tart green grapes, chocolate, and spices from the French Oak barrels it matured in.

Buddy Coffman 5.0

Amazing flavor, apparently this producer only supplies certain bars in this region.

Arabella Rutledge

Okay, I'll admit it. I'm drawn to try this primarily because I find the bottle visually stunning.

Houston Barrett 4.8

That almond paste-like sweetness, almost nutty
