Beyond Caledonian and Girvan, Invergordon stands out as my preferred grain distillery. It presents notes of custard, honey wafers, and marzipan on the nose, evolving into chamomile, sage, and ginger candies. The initial honeyed, creamy impression transitions to flavors of Werther's Original, balanced wood spices, and herbal notes, creating a harmony between sweet and savory. It has an oily texture. Hints of almonds, fresh mint, and subtle tannins conclude the lasting finish. In my view, aged single grains are still widely overlooked and undervalued. RATING: 4.0/5.0 stars ≙ 87 pts → FIRST-CLASS
