Rowan Lilly 4.5

Grain whiskies can be wonderful when aged properly for decades. Some of the finest bottles available are Invergordons from the 1970s, and this 44-year-old Mancarella is certainly one of them. The nose is delightful, sweet, and rich with cereal, offering notes of crème brûlée, exotic tea, and pastries alongside cloves, cocoa butter, and faint acetone. Following a dense, oily, and almost rum-like arrival, pineapple, lemon zest, and brown sugar combine with walnuts, mint, and ginger. Quality oak spices, confectionery, and grapefruit add sparkle to the finish. An excellent grain whisky! RATING: 4.5/5.0 stars ≙ 91 pts → SUPERB
