I've experienced about 1000 whiskies and it takes a lot to truly amaze me. This 1972 Invergordon, however, possesses an exceptional aroma that's unparalleled, standing out brilliantly. The palate offers a lovely blend of cinnamon pastries, caramelized custard, and anise, accompanied by notes of strawberry cream, aged wood, and fresh mint. This elegant, smooth, and utterly charming spirit provides a captivating experience with incredible flavors of pistachio, coconut water, and almonds. The impressive finish is rounded out by intricate wood spices, white chocolate, and savory herbs; I wish it lingered longer. This is the ultimate old grain whisky, matured flawlessly.
