This was only $60 so I was a bit suspicious given the age statement, but bought it anyway. Disappointing. The nose has toffee and sweet pancake syrup notes along with signs of the harshness to come, like nail polish remover and Elmer's glue. Body has a medium viscosity but the harshness of the afterfinish intrudes quickly. Would not buy again.

About this bottle
Hart Brothers, an independent bottling company run by brothers Iain, Donald, and Alistair, offers blended malts made from vintage single malt casks collected from across Scotland. Following blending, the malt undergoes further aging in freshly emptied bourbon casks. This expression has aged for a full 17 years and is finished in first-fill sherry butts. It is bottled at 50% ABV without chill-filtration or added caramel color.

It is precisely what I was hoping for: a fine 60s/70s blend, robust and unrefined, with real character.
