Hardshore Gin, the inaugural product from Hardshore Distilling Company, is the outcome of four years of development. The spirit's foundation is derived from grain grown on the founder's family farm, fermented in open top tanks. Following carbon filtration, it is infused with five botanicals: juniper, coriander, orris, rosemary, and mint.

The initial aroma resembles Japanese shochu with shiso scents, followed by floral and peppery notes. On the palate, it's oily and sweet, with significant spice from pepper and chili heat. The alcohol warmth is moderate. When mixed with tonic, the spiciness vanishes, leaving primarily floral and citrus notes. I prefer it neat or on ice for its distinctive profile.
Clean and sharp, this gin is enjoyable neat or in mixed drinks. It features less juniper in favor of botanical notes, making it a delight. I would definitely purchase it again.
