About this bottle

Powerscourt Distillery in Wicklow produces this blended Irish whiskey, Fercullen Falls Small Batch. A combination of their own distillate forms the 50/50 blend, comprising malt whiskey aged in first-fill bourbon casks and grain whiskey aged in both ex-bourbon and new heavy char casks.

Rickey Hauser 4.0

The bouquet is fresh, with notes of charred oak, ripe fruit, barley sugar, and brown sugar. It's lively and bright, with a strong emphasis on citrus flavors. The taste is soft, beginning with barley and charred oak. It then transitions to buttery vanilla and a slight peppery kick. It's creamy and smooth, straightforward, and dangerously easy to drink. The finish is medium and creamy, with buttery vanilla lingering in your mouth while barley and straw gently fade, completing a wonderful experience.

Demarcus Carreon 3.8

A floral aroma with notes of bergamot and fresh vanilla greets you, followed by an herbal and cereal palate with a malty finish. Overall, a unique whiskey with an easygoing Irish character that also provides a "scotch" impression due to the malt.

Jeffrey Aviles 3.0

It's better without dilution. Adding water makes it quite sharp and spicy, with perhaps too much pepper and clove. Unaltered, it presents a light peatiness and subtle floral notes.

Ernesto Herrmann 3.8

Irish small batch fruit full bodied with light finish, simple finish/ palate

Trista Sampson 4.5

This Irish whiskey is incredibly undervalued; it's now my top choice.

Ilene Holm 3.5

Smooth and fruity flavor with a long-lasting finish.
