While tequila is often matured in barrels previously used for bourbon, it is uncommon for it to be aged in ex-rye barrels. This particular Corazón añejo has undergone a 24-month maturation period in barrels that once held Sazerac rye from the Buffalo Trace distillery in Kentucky.

Super good. It has a wonderful aroma. I could just smell it forever. It is super smooth when you drink it. You can taste some of the barrel, but it's not an excessive amount; the tequila underneath still comes through. A little pricey for my taste, but still good. Had with someone I know.
Smooth, with a delightful balance of spice and richness. It warrants a place in a regular tequila rotation.
Intriguing complexity... a wonderful finish derived from the cask.
