Very light with buttered popcorn (good point made by a friend), soft agave and caramel, very gentle pepper and the softest hint of smoke. Delicate but interesting. $66 in Ontario.

About this bottle
Mezcal Marqués is produced at the historic Hacienda Jaral de Berrio in Guanajuato. In 1764, the Spanish King granted Marquis Jaral de Barrio authorization to produce one of "New Spain's" initial distillates at the hacienda. Marqués Reposado is crafted from wild salmiana agave, harvested at 8 years old, cooked in clay ovens, crushed using a tahona, and distilled in copper pot stills. It undergoes an 8-month aging period in American oak.

Lots of pepper. I don't care for mezcal, but this one is alright.
