About this bottle
Don Pilar is a grower-producer distillery situated in the Highlands (Los Altos) region of Jalisco. It is named after its distiller, Don José Pilar Contreras Marquez, who had a background in ranching, worked as a migrant laborer in the U.S., returned to ranching in Mexico, and even appeared in a film before establishing his distillery, La Trasquila, in 2001. The reposado is aged for 6 months in virgin white oak barrels with a no. 2 char and medium toast.
