As a companion on a friend's journey to introduce me to tequila, I was given a bottle of this as a late birthday gift. As a devoted whiskey enthusiast, it will naturally be challenging to sway me from my amber, aged, divine elixir. However, given his strong feelings about this particular tequila, I felt this choice warranted a thorough tasting. The aroma carries a very strong grassy, earthy scent, which I typically dislike in tequilas. Yet, mingled within that aroma is a surprising burst of caramel and coffee. Dare I say, it smells rather delightful? The initial taste is remarkably sweet! Caramel, milk chocolate, and coffee all emerge on the palate. Midway through, a hint of that grassy, herbaceous agave flavor appears briefly before being overtaken by spicy cinnamon and smooth vanilla. The finish returns to the spicy realm, but this time with a slightly bitter, dry vegetal quality. It goes down like a bouquet of fresh herbs with some tongue-tingling peppercorns. Remarkable! This might be the first tequila I've genuinely savored. Perhaps I should remain open-minded to Añejos in the future. Well done!

About this bottle
