This 2018 release is a potent agave spirit from Tequila San Matiás de Jalisco in the Highlands - Los Altos region of Mexico. It was subsequently finished in a former Weller Special Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey cask. Its rich character begins with notes of agave, caramel, vanilla, fruit, and spice. A spirited mid-palate introduces oak, nuts, pepper, and subtle floral undertones, culminating in a prolonged and intricate finish. Observed in January/February 2019.
Mild agave notes are complemented by vanilla and baking spice undertones. It's straightforward, yet delightful.
Amazingly smooth. This was selected by ABC.
