AROMA: Sweet dark fruit, dried corn, woody oak, citrus rinds, baking spice, a hint of candy sweetness, and cocoa. It possesses a juiciness that is equally wine-like and dark fruit-forward, blending in a syrupy-sweet manner. It's certainly distinctive. PALATE: Tart dark fruit, woody notes, biscuity character, baking spice, dried orchard fruit, anise, and cocoa, with a touch of citrus. It has some of that raw, woody craft spirit essence, but it's sufficiently masked by the dark wine notes to avoid dominating. FINISH: Medium to long. Woody, dark fruit, old-fashioned candy, and spice in a somewhat disconnected fade.

Perhaps my palate is unrefined, but this has a perfumed flavor reminiscent of its appearance. Whether enjoyed straight, with ice, or mixed, it remained unpalatable. I'll give this bottle away to make my companions believe they're receiving something exceptional, as I'm eager to be rid of it.
Nose: Burnt sugar, reminiscent of crème brûlée, with a hint of chocolate. Palate: Rich and decadent, featuring bright molasses, caramel, dark chocolate, and a perfectly caramelized sugar note on the finish.
