NOSE: Sweet fruit, baking spice, wood, copper, almonds, roasted nuts and oil. This aroma is pleasant with a solid, fun, and fruity delivery that I'm actually enjoying. PALATE: Sweet fruit, raw woodiness, baking spice, cocoa, banana chips, and some cocoa and copper. I don't like the Coalition Rye Sauternes Barriques quite as much here. That raw, crafty quality ramps up a lot more and starts to dominate. FINISH: Medium -> Woody, grainy, winey sweetness fades out evenly.

About this bottle
Coalition Rye Sauternes Barriques Finish is made from a 100% rye mash bill, including both malted and unmalted rye. The rye is sourced from Waldeck Farms, located a mile from Kentucky Artisan Distillery, where it is distilled in copper pot stills. This straight rye whiskey is aged for five years in oak barrels, followed by a finishing period of up to 9 months in Sauternes sweet white wine barriques. It is bottled at 94.2 proof.
