Clonakilty Single Batch Irish Whiskey

Very pale straw color, aged in oak barrels. Medium to fast legs suggest a less oily mouthfeel. Initial aroma reveals apples, cinnamon, and orange zest. The palate is spicy at 43% ABV, with notes of peppercorn, orange, and vanilla, leading to a very long finish. After adding water: the orange aroma intensifies, and vanilla becomes more prominent. The palate shifts towards maple syrup with less orange. Perhaps too much water was added.

A bit of spice on the nose. Smells like vanilla, apples, and pears. Spices are also present in the taste. A warming sensation with ginger. Also nutty and fresh, along with the expected vanilla. A lingering warmth. A pleasant balance of spice and sweetness.

A very pleasant, traditional Irish Whiskey. Exhibits significant character from two types of oak, featuring notes of vanilla, toffee, pear, and a hint of grassiness.

An excellent new Irish whiskey. It's very easy to drink overall, yet it possesses great depth and complexity.

Hints of apple cider vinegar on the nose and palate. Otherwise, it's light, crisp, and sweet.
