Carsebridge 52 years old, Batch I, That Boutique-y Whisky Company

I typically can't stand grain whisky, especially rye, which I find the worst. To add more context, I purchased this 52-year-old sample alongside another, an Invergordon 41-year-old that was terrible. With all that said, I'm thrilled I bought this sample, that I tasted my oldest spirit to date, and that I genuinely enjoyed it. The aroma is absolutely stunning. It truly surprised me. Incredibly sweet, Creamy, Rye, custard cream, Caramel and vanilla; Herbal vanilla plant, Acetone hint, Banana, Bronzer. Very sweet Lemon pie. The taste isn't as impressive, but it's still a pretty good drink. Pleasantly warm. Cream, Dark chocolate hint. Rye is everywhere, typical of a rye whisky. Rye clove spice becomes bitter; and after a few minutes, it gets sweeter. The finish is medium but lingered in my mouth long after I drank a glass of water. I believe I've experienced the best single grain whisky so far, scoring it 83 out of 100.
