Cardinal Spirits Terra Botanical Gin

The aroma has very faint traces of pine (though not necessarily classic juniper), followed by earthy mint and spices. The initial taste is nostalgic. They aimed to capture Indiana forests in liquid form, and I believe they succeeded. Light pine and herb notes touch your tongue, then the distinct and very pleasing mint, likely from the Zuta, replaces the initial flavors and lingers beautifully, leaving a warm sensation. When mixed in a Gin and Tonic, the sweetness of the tonic enhances the mint, amplifying the sensation. Overall, this is an outstanding Gin. It's probably not an everyday choice due to the strong mint, but when you desire mint or are missing the forest, this is a remarkable Gin for the occasion.

This is simply not to my liking. I prefer less harshness. It tasted like sucking cheap vodka off a stinging nettle. I was anticipating more botanical notes, especially the mint that was advertised. It was quite harsh. It might actually work well in a Bloody Mary. I need to test that theory.

Arguably the finest botanical gin I've encountered. It's complex while still retaining a significant amount of traditional juniper character. Flavors include floral notes, mint, grapefruit peel, and juniper. Excellent in cocktails that highlight the gin's distinct profile.

Tastes like a pine forest in your mouth, followed by a hint of turpentine. The pine and juniper are overwhelming and mask any mouthfeel or subtlety, so it's not to my preference. However, the bottle and concept are neat.

The pine notes are prominent. It's definitely a botanical gin. I tried it neat and in various cocktails, but it didn't express much beyond pine in any preparation.

Superb gin. I really enjoy the consistent mint flavor. Abundant pine notes. A subtle hint of licorice. It has enough character that I actually prefer it neat.
