In 1995, a businessman named Fernando Pernambuco brought the Rheem Metalúrgica factory to Patos de Minas to provide packaging for Cica. His manager, Antônio Caetano de Faria, and he established F Pernambuco LTDA, previously the owner of the Cachaça Benvinda and Primeira Dama brands. Jequitibá Rosa wood was selected for aging. The intention was to create a special cachaça with 38% alcohol. Production commenced in 1999. In 2005, American Steve Luttmann acquired the company, founding Maison Leblon in Patos de Minas, Minas Gerais. They produced 350,000 liters per harvest under the guidance of production director Carlos Oliveira and Gilles Merlet, a distinguished French master blender known for his Cognacs. The global giant Bacardi also joined them. Fernando Faria, one of the founders of Cachaça Benvinda, chose the harvest from three special barrels for aging. Their ambition was to produce a 21-year-old spirit, akin to the world's finest whiskeys. Years later, in 2024, they fulfilled their objective and released Cachaça Benvinda under a secret name: the last harvest. Its newly designed label, bottle, and cork satisfied the market's demand for new products. Source: Cachaçaria Nacional
