This cachaça came about from someone who really loves cachaça, the head of the Almendra family, Mr. Oswaldo Lima Almendra Filho. What started as a bit of fun or a hobby turned into another facility for making good handcrafted cachaça, adding to the ones already producing it in the Viçosa do Ceará area. Soon, this hard work and determination caught the eye of other family members. They quickly got involved, creating a family venture that blends the drive and dedication to make fantastic cachaça with the joy of doing it together. The Teja release is a special batch rested in American oak barrel #12, a solitary barrel, with only 200 bottles made, each marked and autographed by the maker. From the Cachaça Almendra site.
