Douglas Laing & Co. presents Big Peat, an Islay blended malt composed of peated single malts from various Islay distilleries. This edition is bottled at a natural strength of 54.2% ABV. It became available worldwide in October 2022, reaching major markets in Europe, America, and Asia, with a suggested retail price of £57.50 / €68.50.

Really enjoy this one. Intensely peaty, with some medicinal notes reminiscent of laphroig. Concludes with a distinct nutty flavor. Clearly a young spirit, but this allows the peat to really stand out.
The aroma is very captivating. I can't quite identify it, but I enjoy it immensely. The alcohol content above 52% is noticeable without water. Notes of caramel. A very pleasant sipping experience.
Notes of bacon, iodine, and sweet smoke. It's a potent whiskey, but the smoke softens it.
Long-lasting smoke with tastes of the sea and salt. Caramel on the nose.
