From a Battery Point Distillery tasting in Hobart on Monday, August 10th, 2024, this is Whisky #2. The nose presents orange zest, sherry, and malt extract. On the palate, it has a semi-sweet arrival and development with malt, sherry caramel, and vanilla. The texture is oily. The finish is medium, with sherry dominating the aftertaste. This was a blend of whiskies aged in a 100-liter PX sherry cask and a 100-liter cream sherry cask, yielding 418 bottles. It marks Battery Point's first batch of fully sherry-wood matured whisky, and we sampled bottle #261. Overall, I found it comparable to the Triple Cask expression tasted earlier but less complex and sweeter. The PX cask's influence is quite strong. Rated "Above Average": 82/100 (3.25 stars).
