The nose is fantastic – my first impression was dark chocolate with raspberries/red berries, followed by honey, some oak, and a generous amount of caramel. On the palate, it's fruity with some vanilla, mint, and red currants, but these are very fleeting. Everything fades, replaced by a medium to long finish of oaky spiciness with a metallic tang (perhaps the whisky's youth showing?) and a whiff of charred smoke. I enjoy much of what's happening, but the experience is a bit disorienting.

About this bottle
Located sixteen kilometers inland from the Twelve Apostles, Tim Marwood operates a micro-distillery in Timboon, inspired by historical practices. Marwood emphasizes quality over quantity, tailoring production to the niche market for his spirit. The distillery's still, a scaled-down version of those found at Scotland's Macallan distillery, was manufactured in Tasmania. Barrels are sourced from Victoria, Tasmania, and Rutherglen. While the whisky matures, Marwood also produces various liqueurs. The whiskies are offered in 200ml or 500ml bottles.

Great fruity/green apple aroma that pairs wonderfully with the port barrel. Tastes like the producer considered the finish when creating it.
