The nose presents a soft, velvety profile, with hints of red berry along with a good amount of caramel and milk chocolate. On the palate, it starts sweet and quickly develops into a powerful, spicy, and cask-influenced experience. The flavors are on the lower end of the spectrum, with significant wood and rye notes leading the way. A very long finish concludes with a peppery vibrancy we were hoping for.

About this bottle
The Tribute Blend marks the third release in 2XO's Icon Series, created by founder Dixon Dedman to honor his parents. This blend comprises Kentucky straight bourbon whiskeys made from two distinct mash bills: one high-rye (35%) and another low-rye (16-18%). In line with the brand's practices, it undergoes Dixon's "Two Times Oak" process, which involves rebarreling the chosen bourbons into new charred oak barrels. This limited edition became accessible in September 2023, with a suggested retail price of $99.99.

It's indeed oily, which is excellent, but at 104 proof, I expected a bit more from the taste. Plenty of spice.
Sweet cinnamon aroma, rich, remarkably consistent, sweet and full-bodied, slightly oily with a mild spicy burn. Highly recommended.

Subtly sweet with faint notes of chocolate and caramel. Also a very smooth drink.
