Tony Wray 4.8

Aroma - satisfactory. My immediate impression is “this is amazing and intricate”. Likely the finest smelling Barrell Bourbon I've encountered so far. Overwhelming caramel and vanilla notes. Significant deep oak character. I'm also detecting a pleasant balance of red fruits (strawberries and raspberries) mixed with dark fruits (plums come to mind). There's also a cake-like presence. As with most BCS products, a new scent emerges with each return to the glass. It's simply fantastic. Taste - Perfectly mirrors the aroma. Astonishing complexity… The viscosity is superb… My entire palate is coated with this remarkable whiskey. Overall - Incredible. This is undeniably the best Barrell Bourbon Batch I've sampled. I considered 031 to be exceptional and regret not having that vanilla powerhouse to compare against this one. Easily rated 4.75.

Each time I sample this, I discover something new: a medley of candies and fruits, a subtle high rye character, faint cherry and mineral notes.... it continues to evolve.

Marylou Starr 4.0

First pour. Spicy, thick, coating, semi-sweet, cherry syrup, flambéed caramel, dried fruits, and baking spices. A long peppery finish.

Mina Crabtree 4.0

Impressive aroma, drinks a bit hot; an ice cube would likely enhance the flavors.

Peggy Mcmillan 4.0

Cinnamon, stone fruit, berries. Quite good. My preferred option from recent batches.

Keenan Aleman 3.8

Caramel and baking spices on the aroma; the finish is quite long but lacks depth.
