About this bottle

This 10 year-old straight bourbon from WhistlePig undergoes secondary aging in experimental barrels featuring two toasted heads: one with Vermont oak medium toast on the "snout" end and the other with Vermont oak smoked maple wood toast on the "tail" end. It is bottled at 88 proof, a number representing the approximate distance in miles between the WhistlePig Vermont Farm and the upcoming PiggyBank brand outpost in Louisville, Kentucky. This release will be available nationwide from January 29, 2025, at a suggested retail price of $89.99.

Roderick Womack 3.0

Served in a Glencairn glass after resting for 15 minutes. The color is medium amber. On the nose, I detected apple, caramel, graham cracker, and vanilla. The palate brought notes of cinnamon red hots, clove, and baking spices. The finish was medium in length with moderate warmth. Adding a splash revealed no new flavor dimensions. Overall, I give it a 6/10. I genuinely wished I enjoyed it more. It's sourced from Kentucky but is 10 years old and 88 proof. It's decent, but significantly less impressive than other 10-year Kentucky bourbons at a comparable proof.

Homer Yancey 4.0

Pleasantly sweet and easy to drink with a good mouthfeel, but inexplicably overpriced compared to similarly aged Kentucky bourbons that offer more character.

Malia Clay 4.3

At 88 proof, it's easy to drink straight. Smooth, nutty, toasty, oaky on the palate, with a subtle baking spice finish.

Marty Friend 4.3

The aroma is exceptional, and it's incredibly smooth. I wish the finish lingered longer.

Savannah Shannon 4.5

First! (excellent review). It's WhistlePig, but the 10 year old.

Cordelia Elam 4.3

Uncomplicated, just excellent.
