Treaty Oak Red Handed Bourbon (Kentucky, Indiana, Tennessee)

This rye is for anyone hesitant or reluctant to drink rye. Intense spice hits your palate. Like a chaotic event brought all its spice to your drink. There's a significant amount of ethanol in the glass; I've discovered adding half a teaspoon of distilled water to a generous pour, letting it sit for about 5 to 7 minutes, helps it dissipate quite well. It's smooth on the finish, meaning no burn at all. This type of beverage is what I'd call a "Uh ohh" drink. After a few hours with the bottle, you find half of it gone and you look at your spouse and can only say, "Uh Ohh." Vanilla and some berry are subtly present. You find them by swirling it in your mouth and letting your taste buds guide you to their hiding place. Everyone knows how much I enjoy rye... I truly do. Initially very rye-forward with a gradual burn. Hints of vanilla and oak are present, but the flavors on the back end are somewhat limited. Living in Austin, Texas, I find many Texas bourbons to be immature and overly focused on novelty releases. This one is 90 proof, so a double will certainly make you feel good. I wouldn't purchase a bottle, but I'd certainly drink it if offered.

The flavor is decent, but this bourbon remains quite aggressive. Additional barrel time might help, though I'm not entirely convinced. Their national marketing efforts will be noteworthy, but I don't anticipate success.

Two fingers over ice. It has a pleasant flavor with a noticeable heat, akin to pepper or cinnamon. Vanilla and caramel are detectable, along with some woody undertones. Overall, it's quite enjoyable to drink.

I enjoy this whiskey. It starts spicy, becomes fruity and sweet in the middle, and finishes with smooth caramel. It benefits from an ice cube.

I really enjoy this. It presents a nose and taste reminiscent of Garrison.
