Teremana Tequila Reposado

I'm new to tequila outside of shots or mixed drinks. I got this for my son, who is easily influenced by famous people. It's hard to find, likely because others are equally taken with 'The Rock,' leaving shelves bare. I found the last bottle for my son, but naturally, I had to check it out myself. At first, there's a slightly antiseptic smell. Once that fades, you primarily get lemon, vanilla, and charcoal, with a tiny bit of bitter dark chocolate. Overall, it’s light and appealing. It has a smooth feel with tropical fruit and sweet vanilla. It seems like it was either distilled quickly or aged briefly because it has a slight sharpness common in young spirits. Notes of lemon and lime citrus with a touch of charcoal are present. This then fades away. With ice, the sharpness lessens, and more vanilla and lemon peel come through. A hint of bitterness appears as it finishes. The medium finish is reminiscent of original Listerine mouthwash, with some lemon peel and vanilla. This could be a good introductory tequila for sipping. It might also work well in a Margarita, as the charcoal adds some character. A lemon note runs from the smell to the finish. It's decent, but I'd look for something else. It's drinkable. Not terrible, and many might enjoy it. I prefer it on ice rather than neat. It's worth trying, and the cost isn't prohibitive. [83/100][Tasted: 5/15/20]

Quite the surprise. Poured into a small glass, the aroma definitely has a sweet quality that persists onto the taste. This is a remarkably mellow, though somewhat unusual, tequila to drink. Someone else remarked that Teremana is “tequila for bourbon drinkers.” I concur that an avid tequila enthusiast might not enjoy this spirit. While I found it agreeable, I don't see it becoming my regular tequila.

Let it rest for sixty seconds. Appearance: Pale green hue with slender trails; Aroma: Notes of raw plants reminiscent of a freshly cut yard, a sweet fragrance I suspect is vanilla; Palate: Hints of sugary notes with caramel touches, decent for the price, remarkably silky for an inexpensive tequila; Finish: The flavor fades quickly, the vegetal character persists.

A decent reposado, though not exceptional. This is the tequila to reach for when preparing large quantities of margaritas for a neighborhood gathering. The flavor is acceptable but slightly lacking in body. I prefer Teremana’s blanco expression, as it offers a more pronounced grassy character.

This turned out to be a commendable tequila from a celebrity brand! It's quite smooth, perhaps a bit light, with delicate flavors. It's slightly overpriced in Ontario, but it's worth trying compared to other options available.

Thanks to a friend. The aroma is peppery and still undeveloped for a reposado. It also has an umami quality. The taste is green, yet sweet with caramel and vanilla; white pepper is present. A spicy finish.
