Left to rest for approximately five minutes. Appearance: A very pale gold hue with a full body, catching the light like flecks of sunshine; Aroma: Predominant notes of mature agave with emerging spiciness, typical vegetal scents, and warm baking spices; Taste: Sweetness with apple spice and some vanilla at the start, followed by more sugary sweetness at the end, a pleasant taste without excessive harshness; Finish: A brief aftertaste allowing for tasting other spirits without significant flavor overlap, feels very light on the palate, excellent on its own.

About this bottle
Avión Tequila updated its packaging in mid-2018 to highlight the single origin of its agave. All agave for the tequila comes from Jesus Maria, a town situated at 7,000 feet in the Los Altos region of Jalisco, Mexico. The tequila is distilled in small batches and undergoes a proprietary ultra-slow filtration process. Each bottle is filled and labeled by hand, including batch and bottle codes, and for aged products, the number of months it was matured. This reposado is aged for six months in used American oak bourbon barrels.

A robust agave spirit from Mexico, aged for six months in oak. It presents an aromatic introduction with hints of roasted agave, wood, earth, fruits, flowers, herbs, and spices. Its rich character develops notes of cherry, peach, pear, caramel, and vanilla, leading to a complex, medium-length finish with subtle oak and rose petal notes. April 2017 / November 2019
Nose: Intense agave, fruit notes, and ethanol. Hints of citrus and herb. Taste: Spicy pepper, woody oak, and agave. A mild initial heat that escalates to bold leather and spice. Excessive heat, yet a pleasant sweetness beneath the profile.
Subtly flavored with sweet agave/tree fruit, it's smooth with a touch of peppery spice. Good, but its delicate profile leaves me wanting more. It's comparable to, and possibly richer than, Milagro Reposado. Not currently available in Ontario.
It's 80 proof. It spent 6 months aging in former bourbon barrels. It has notes of agave, ash, caramel, corn, charred oak, charred pineapple, molasses, animal crackers, and vanilla butter.
Features notes of char, vanilla, and earth. The flavor has hints of pear. Sweet and slightly burning. Very smooth and quite good.
