The "La Latilla" rancho, characterized by its gentle eastern slope and ample afternoon sun, is the source for this tequila. Agaves harvested in late 2014 and early 2015 are reflected in the 2015 vintage designation. These agaves, aged seven years at harvest, possessed an average sugar content of 32%, which is notably high. The tequila was matured for at least one year in used American whiskey barrels.

A surprisingly clear añejo. I'd heard excellent things about Ocho and felt compelled to try it. It's fresh, vegetal, and grassy. Clearly well-crafted and enjoyable to drink, though it seems to have absorbed minimal influence from the barrel. It improved as I drank it, mellowing considerably during the neat pour, but I'm uncertain if I'd choose it over similarly priced tequilas.
Very light. The flavors are a bit of muted pepper, a low level of sweetness, a hint of caramel, and a nice agave taste. For an añejo, the color is quite pale. It's drinkable and very easy to have neat. I'm indifferent to it. I don't really detect any whiskey barrel influence.
Excellent. It has flavors of vanilla, chocolate, agave, and spices.
Woody and grassy. Quite pleasing.
Earthy, fruity, sugary.
