About this bottle

Tequila Arette Artesanal Suave Añejo is produced from 100% blue Weber agave cultivated on a single estate in Jalisco's lowlands. The agave is slow-roasted for over 15 hours in brick ovens before fermentation with a proprietary yeast strain in a cement vat, followed by pot distillation. Maturation takes place in American oak ex-bourbon barrels for a minimum of 20 months. It is bottled at 80 proof and contains no additives.

Served neat. It exhibits numerous legs in the glass. The aroma is pleasing, with abundant fruity agave, honey, and oak. The taste mirrors the nose, featuring plenty of honey/light caramel, a good oak presence, a touch of vanilla, and black pepper. There are also hints of herbs and mulling spices. The finish has a sugary quality, with oak tannins, black pepper, and possibly a faint clove note. The texture is moderately full and oily. Overall, it's smooth and leans towards the sweeter side of balanced. Allowing it to breathe improved it significantly. It serves well as a pleasant after-dinner drink.

🍾 Just opened, was chilled, allowed to sit for about 5 minutes (I was a bit congested, so I'll need to revisit when I'm feeling better for a proper review). 🧐 Appears medium dark hay-colored with a slightly thick consistency. 🥸 Sweet vegetal notes, vanilla, and a hint of butterscotch. 😝 Feels thick on the palate initially, with vanilla flavors and some medicinal qualities. 🥴 The finish is long; I might need to rinse with water to cleanse the palate.

Misty Schulz 4.5

In my opinion, this is among the finest añejo tequilas I've ever sampled. Exceptionally smooth and well-balanced. The distinctively sweet, earthy agave flavors are still perceptible, and the subtle barrel influence complements them wonderfully. Seek it out if you have the opportunity.

Purchased this tequila from the producer. Sampled it neat. Extremely smooth and silky, showing hints of vanilla and caramelized sugar, with a toasted quality.

Jonathon Dillon 3.5

A brief review. It's nice, but I liked its younger counterpart better.

Karter Fajardo 4.8

Vanilla, a little buttery, and very smooth.
