An intense Brandy from Tenuta Il Poggione in Grappa di Brunello, Italy, made from Sangiovese grape pomace from the Paganelli vineyard. It's distilled in copper pot stills, with the main distillate aged for 4 years in 350-liter French oak barrels that previously held Il Poggione Brunello di Montalcino, before being bottled at 43% ABV. It begins with aromas of fruits, wood, flowers, nuts, and spices, while its rich and complex character adds notes of grape pomace, apple, apricot, honeysuckle, and anise, leading to a bold, medium-length finish with hints of black raisins, honey, oak, and almonds.
