Strega

Bright yellow with thick legs and good clarity. Herbal spices, lemon, and licorice on the nose. It's creamy and sweet with some intensity on the palate. Slightly bitter. I'm detecting lemon, anise, mint, and juniper flavors. It's very complex but well-balanced. Overall, it's interesting and adaptable. I enjoyed it neat, chilled, on the rocks, and in an Autumn Leaves cocktail with rye whiskey, apple brandy, sweet vermouth, and cinnamon tincture.

Strega, also known as "The Witch's Brew," is an Italian Liqueur made with approximately 70 ingredients. This is an excellent demonstration of why Europeans enjoy their aperitifs and digestifs! A well-balanced liqueur that doesn't taste artificially sweetened, it offers pleasant herbal notes, along with mint and anise! I could drink this all night. My score was 92.

Slightly medicinal. Has a thick, syrupy consistency. Initially sugary sweet (with hints of vanilla) followed by a strong herbal finish (a touch of anise). Not overly bitter, but still intense. It's acceptable, but not my preferred choice.

Thick, syrupy consistency with a mild medicinal taste. Refreshing over ice with a pleasant light spearmint finish.

Possesses an equally complex herbal character but is considerably more robust in flavor than Chartreuse.

Warm, thick, herbal. Evokes Italy. Meant to be savored slowly.
