It falls short compared to the dried chile liqueur, and it also features distinct notes of anise and mint, which are not typically found in common poblano chile. It's not as good as the Ancho Reyes red, and it also has very strong notes of anise and mint that are not so common in the common poblano chile.

About this bottle
Ancho Reyes Verde Chile Poblano Liqueur is produced similarly to the original Ancho Reyes ancho chile liqueur, with notable distinctions. Unlike the original, the poblano peppers for Ancho Reyes Verde are harvested while still green, rather than being allowed to ripen and sun-dry. Some of these green poblano peppers are then fire-roasted, and all are mashed before the maceration process begins. It is subsequently blended for uniformity and bottled at 40% ABV.

Considerably spicier than its ancho predecessor. Lively and vegetal. It's like a chile relleno in liquid form.
A personal favorite. Strikes a perfect balance of heat and excellent flavor.
