Still Austin's fourth and final seasonal bottled-in-bond release is a Straight Rye Whiskey. This whiskey utilizes a mash bill of 100% Texas-grown rye, identical to that of The Artist Straight Rye. Adhering to bottled-in-bond regulations, it originates from a single distillation season by one distiller, matures for a minimum of four years in a federally bonded warehouse, and is bottled at 100 proof. Head Distiller John Schrepel and Master Blender Nancy Fraley were responsible for barrel selection. It became available online and at select retailers in March 2024 with a suggested retail price of $79.99.

DRANK AS IS Aroma: Stone fruit, orchard fruit, toffee, nutmeg, and sweet granules. Taste: Velvety and slick texture. Nutmeg, nectar, pear, and peppery grain on the tongue. Aftertaste: Lingering. Verdict: Absolutely pick this up, particularly if you are seeking to complete the collection.
I've been inconsistent with my rye experiences lately, but this one is closer to what I like. While I'm not always a fan of excessive apple in Ryes, this one works; it's not overwhelming. This producer continues to make great products.
Smells like flowers, mint, and green apple; it's quite pleasing. Flavor: starts out crisp and zesty. Develops with tastes of grass, banana, and unsweetened green tea. Aftertaste: somewhat astringent, average length. It's okay, but not amazing. I enjoy it
On the nose: Strong spearmint with underlying notes of hay and citrus, leaning towards grain. On the palate: A hint of brown sugar with more spearmint, an oily texture, grain notes balanced by a sugary foundation. Not overly spicy, but rather sweet.
Nose: vanilla, caramel, apple, toasted brown sugar. Taste: earthy or herbaceous, a bit of spice, dried fruit.
Not overly strong, very pleasant to drink.
