Deandre Barragan 3.0

New to tequila, drinking it neat and at room temperature. The Reposado has a pleasing light gold hue, resembling pale citrine. It presents a truly beautiful, subtly inviting scent of smoke, toasted oats, and perhaps a faint trace of citrus. On the palate, it's significantly different: much fruitier and more tannic – akin to consuming an orange with its peel. It leaves a pronounced and lasting acidic sensation (apologies for the lack of technical terms...). The appealing smokiness is present, though it takes a secondary role to the acidic citrus flavors. As someone who mostly enjoys whiskey, it bears a resemblance to Scotch, much more so than bourbon. I certainly wouldn't refuse it if offered, though I likely wouldn't choose it over other beverages.

An intense spirit made from agave by Campari Mexico, S.A. de C.V. [NOM1440] in Jalisco (Los Altos Southern), Mexico. It was made using an autoclave and aged for a minimum of 2 months in American oak barrels. It starts with aromas of cooked agave, earth, wood, fruit, flowers, herbs & spices; while a sharp development adds notes of tropical fruits, vanilla & grass; leading to a floral conclusion of moderate duration with hints of oak, pepper, cinnamon & solvent.

Drank neat. The aroma is quite light, well-balanced, and pleasing. Features agave, spicy oak, a hint of vanilla, earth, and herbs. The taste includes roasted agave, oaky vanilla, and spice. The finish is sweet, oaky, with green herbs and a touch of pepper. It's smooth, balanced, and complex. Contains a bit of everything, but no single element overpowers. I appreciate the absence of artificial flavors. Excellent quality and value make this a staple for my collection.

Hank Branson 3.5

The aroma presents sweet agave with a funky, ethanol character. A subtle earthiness also comes through in the scent. The taste is sweet, featuring three distinct elements: floral notes, pepper, and earthiness. They harmonize well, consistently surprising me with each sip of this tequila. This is an adequate Tequila Reposado, though I personally favor Centenario Reposado.

Incredibly smooth and delightful, astonishing for the cost. It's my new go-to tequila, outperforming pricier options. While the Blanco is also good, this reposado is the one. It's so smooth I don't need a chaser, and I always use one.

Just a little smoke with a velvety, slick texture! A hint of sugarcane sweetness appears at room temperature, changing to a honey-like sweetness when chilled. A bit of a sharp finish, not fully mellowed by the cask! Nevertheless, a pleasant tequila!
