My previous assessment was incorrect; there's another blanco tequila that ranks with Ocho, El Tesoro, and Siembra Azul. Siembra Valles is not only incredible but also more affordable than those other three, at least where I am. It's also the most challenging to locate in my region, but it's definitely worth seeking out if you come across it. The aroma is pure agave with some citrus. On the palate, I detect a hint of spice, cooked agave, and earthy characteristics. It's exceptionally well-balanced. The finish is quite lengthy and offers a touch of sweetness. There's hardly any burn. Considering the price (if you can find it), it's difficult to overlook. They also offer a high-proof blanco and an ancestral tequila, both reportedly excellent. As one might expect, this tequila shines in a margarita and virtually any other cocktail. If cost were no object, I'd consider it equal to El Tesoro and Siembra Azul. I'm giving it a slightly higher score because it's a bit less expensive than the others, but you can't go wrong with any of them.

About this bottle
Siembra Valles Blanco Tequila is the creation of David Suro, founder of Siembra Azul, who aimed to produce tequila at Distileria Cascahuin (NOM 1123), his initial distillery visit. Located in the lowland Valles region, it features mineral-rich agave grown in El Arenal, Jalisco's volcanic soil. The agave is slow-roasted for up to 72 hours and shredded four times to maximize sugar extraction. Fermentation occurs in Mamposteria (stone and fiberglass structures) and stainless steel tanks. It is distilled once in stainless steel with a copper coil, then a second time in smaller copper pot stills before being bottled unaged.

Starts with both raw and cooked agave, some minty herbal notes, some cilantro, hints of floral notes, lime peel, granite earthiness, and some black and white pepper. The finish brings more minerality, herb and peppery notes that last for a medium to long duration. Fantastic mineral-rich blanco from the Cascahuin distillery!
90 points INCREDIBLE! Smell Agave Citrus Pepper Herbal Taste Agave citrus Light Honey Herbal/ Earthy Pepper Vegetal Agave It has a long, oily finish. The pepper spice holds strong but fades well, pushing the agave forward for a pleasant warm tingle. Great body and balance. True artistry.
A delicate agave spirit from NOM 1414. Starts with notes of agave, fruit, nuts, herbs & spices, then tropical notes of coconut & mango appear. It finishes with a balanced, medium-length peppery taste. May 2017
Vegetal, mineral, citrus, some pepper, and green olives with brine. It's smooth. It has a good body, but not enough agave sweetness to balance the other flavors for me. I got it on sale. It's definitely a quality tequila. I would purchase it again, but not at full price.
This Tequila was a fantastic bargain! It's a very good tequila. This tequila has a pleasant, clean taste with good agave flavor and a peppery finish. A reliable choice if you're seeking a quality mid-priced tequila.
