About this bottle
Shirakawa 1958 is a limited-edition offering from Takara Shuzo Co., Ltd., created in partnership with Scotland's Tomatin Distillery. Although Shirakawa Distillery ceased operations in 2003 following over six decades of malt whisky production, its liquid also found its way into blends. This bottling is recognized as the sole official single malt from the distillery ever released, representing the earliest known vintage of Japanese whisky to be made available and the rarest Japanese whisky on the market. The whisky is bottled at 49% ABV, with a suggested retail price of £25,000 for a 700ml bottle.
