Flaviar advent calendar, day #7 Nose: Peat smoke is beautifully balanced with spice and jammy fruit, creosote, spicy rye, mint, and mesquite. Palate: Cooked pear, orange peel, very mild smoke and peat. Malty sweetness, mild rye spice, honey, and a subtle mint/herbal note as it transitions to the finish. A little heat is present. Petrichor and minerals emerge at the back. Finish: Floral and woody, spiced wood, oak, petrichor.

This whiskey resembles a smoked candied lemon slice dusted with dried chili flakes. Sweet candied lemon is present on the nose and palate. The palate is peppery, and the finish is short and tart, with lingering smoke. I do appreciate the peat smoke, but the tartness and lightness of the whiskey aren't to my preference. I favor richer and baking spice flavors more. Adding a bit of water enhances its richness and sweetness.

The color has a golden corn tint. Upon opening, the aroma is like a fresh box of corn flakes, with a strong cereal presence of corn and maple. The scent is layered with sweet perfume, fragrant dried herbs, oak, and a hint of orange zest. The flavor profile leads with cereal, complemented by mint and a smoky finish. What makes this bottle stand out is its extended finish.

Nose: Strong caramel and smoke with meaty undertones, plus a hint of grass. Palate: Starts with fresh, clean fruit, quickly followed by meaty smoke. It's still a rather sweet whiskey. Finish: Grassy with a slight lingering smoke. It has an oily but pleasant finish. Overall: A complex whiskey where all the components blend nicely, showcasing distinct profiles from each element.

The aroma has subtle smoke with fruity and caramel undertones. The palate primarily enhances those same notes, with the smoke becoming even more pronounced. The finish leaves the smoke and fruit lingering without the caramel, but introduces a bit of spiciness.

Rich and deep scent, with notes of berries and wood. It appears complex and aged. Sweet maple on top, with wood and spice underneath. There's a slight tang at the end, possibly like green apple. Chocolate notes are present, making it rich and pleasing.
