I was impressed when I first got this. The large container with the solid wood lid was striking, as was the bottle with its wood cap and deep reddish-brown color. The taste was fruity and sweet, most like cherry to cherry cream. There was some toffee and caramel, along with a woodiness. Trying it with an ice cube somewhat diluted the sweetness. It wasn't as fantastic as the presentation suggested, but it was still a tasty rum overall.
A friend picked this up based on a suggestion from someone at a liquor store. It's decent for sipping but will likely just be mixed with coke to finish the bottle. I won't purchase it again.
No different from any other Caribbean rum. Nothing special, just a sweet sugarcane profile.
