Atlantico Gran Reserva, formerly Private Cask, is the premier marque from Atlantico, a brand that distills both molasses and cane juice rums. These are aged independently, then combined and aged again before entering the solera aging system. For the Gran Reserva, this process results in a final blend featuring rums as old as 25 years. The Atlantico packaging was updated in 2017.

The aroma is very sweet with a hint of spice. It's perfect on the palate. Sweet caramel/butterscotch, perhaps a little vanilla, but still balanced with some spice that prevents it from being too sweet like a liqueur. Likely the best rum I've encountered yet.
It's surprisingly earthy and oaky, yet still has a refreshing sugary taste.
Enjoyed this on the beach in Fort Lauderdale. Delicious.
