About this bottle
Botran Rum originates from a single estate in Guatemala, utilizing two sugarcane varieties harvested on the country's southern Pacific coast. Instead of traditional molasses, the initial pressing of sugarcane, known as virgin sugar cane honey, is used for distillation. Botran employs a unique aging method called "dynamic aging," a variation of the solera system. The No. 12 blend consists of rums aged between 5 and 12 years, matured in American whiskey and sherry casks. Botran holds a Protected Denomination of Origin (PDO) and is certified as Ron de Guatemala. The brand was reintroduced to the US in August 2022 with updated packaging, priced at $24.99 for a 700ml bottle.
