The palate maintains its dark and heavy profile but loses some earthy notes, gaining additional grainy sweetness and a subtle mustiness. FINISH Extended – Oak, spice, metallic notes, dark fruit, and mustiness. The finish of the Redemption 10 Year Barrel Proof Rye offers the expected oaky-spicy fade, but with a light mustiness reminiscent of the 'Old Bottle Effect' often found in aged spirits.

This rye release from Redemption, similar to their other offerings, is composed of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. It is a vatting of six distinct barrels sourced from the former Seagram's Distillery, also known as LDI or MGP Indiana.

I sampled the 6, 7, 8, and 10-year-old expressions at Whisky Jewbilee. The new 8-year-old was particularly impressive, though all were excellent examples of rye whiskey.
Nice rich caramel flavor with some cinnamon spice kicking on the finish. Strong but balanced. Very good!
Mine is a 7-year, not a 10-year.
