This single malt whisky originates from the Paul John Distillery in Goa, India. It spent an initial five years maturing in ex-bourbon barrels in the region's warm climate, followed by a finishing period of up to two years in 60-year-old ex-Pedro Ximinez sherry casks. The bottling strength is 48% ABV.

The smell isn't as vibrant as many I've encountered from this brand, yet it's just as engaging with a range of sweet notes layered over the malt. The taste is intensely sweet, almost overwhelmingly so, with a syrupy, dark character throughout. The finish introduces a pleasant charred element that slightly tempers the sugary sweetness, making it the highlight of this spirit. It leans sweet, but it's acceptable.
Aged for 5 years in bourbon casks with an additional 2-year finish in PX casks. Excellent spirit, capable of standing alongside many high-end Asian whiskies.
