Nose: vanilla, wheat, brown sugar, a hint of hazelnut. Taste: Taste buds instantly awaken with sweetness. Some dark chocolate notes, a touch of cherry from the Oloroso finish. Finish: Subtle oak spice on the finish. The perfect level of spice to counter the sweetness.

About this bottle
Part of Middle West's initial offering of double cask-finished whiskeys, the Oloroso Wheat Whiskey is aged for five years in lightly toasted Ohio-made American white oak barrels. It then undergoes a finishing period in Spanish oloroso sherry barrels. This whiskey is bottled at 100 proof and has been available since October 2021.

I enjoyed it! It had a very smooth, almost syrupy texture. While I'm not sure I'd purchase a bottle for myself, it was certainly a pleasant tasting.
It's acceptable, though the finish lingers. Doesn't quite measure up to the straight wheated, but it's alright
